     Goal of the Mentorship Program:  

Provide school psychologists with guidance and support to navigate their career path successfully.

                                Reality: The Challenges We Face

                        -There is an increasing demand for School Psychologists, but limited guidance on career
                         navigation.
                        -Balancing work/study, adapting to real-word practices, and navigating common
                         challenges such as imposter syndrome.
                        -Identifying areas where professional development is needed based on career setting and
                         goals.  The skill-set needed is determined by work environment and professional
                         interests.

Receive Certified Professional Development (CPD)

                                   In order to receive CPD credit for participation in the program, the mentor and
                                   mentee must:

  1. Document each mentorship session including meeting date, activity, start time, end time, and total time using the  Illinois School psychologists Association Mentorship Log.  The log must be signed by the mentor and mentee and uploaded to ISPA’s website. 

    Please scan all mentorship logs when you have accumulated 5 or 10 hours, and upload them below:

                         -Participants can earn:

                         -10 hours per academic year

                         -20 hours per NCSP renewal cycle (every 3 years)

                         -Participants are responsible for keeping track of their hours.

  1. Once the logs have been submitted a link containing the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Program Evaluation will be sent to the mentor and mentee.  This form must be completed to receive CPD credits.

                       -Minimum of 5 hours must be completed for an Evidence of Completion (EOC) form to be
                        issued for PD credits.

                       -5 hour and 10 hour EOC forms will be available.

                       -Submission Deadlines:

                                   -Fall: December 1st- EOC processed by December 30th.

                                   -Spring- June 1st- EOC processed by June 30th.

  1. Once the ISBE Program Evaluation has been completed, ISPA will generate a CPD credit Evidence of Completion Form.
