Call for Poster Presentations for

ISPA’s 2027 Annual Winter Conference

Poster Topics

Any poster presentation that is of interest to School Psychologists is appropriate for ISPA committee review prior to presenting at ISPA’s 2027 annual winter conference. Poster sessions are an informal format for presenting research data or highlighting innovative practices. 

In the research category, you are encouraged to present any current research.  Research is a broad category and can include many types of methodologies, such as experimental research, applied research, program evaluations, or literature reviews addressing research questions. 

In the practice category, you are encouraged to highlight any innovative practice or intervention.  You can share preliminary results or final outcomes for the practice. 

Proposal Submission Requirements

Those interested in presenting must submit:

(a) 8-10 word title

(b)  a 500 word abstract of their presentation

(c)  research objectives including how the objectives align with ISPA Priority Areas and/or NASP 

Practice Model

The names of individuals submitting the poster, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and university training program must be included.  Presenters must clearly state 1-4 students who will be the contact people and poster presenters for future communications.  All of the information submitted must be suitable for printing in the conference program. 

All posters are to be submitted via this form which will be reviewed by the Career Services Committee.  

You must be an ISPA member to submit a poster for the conference.  In order to present in-person, you must register for the convention.

Posters will be presented via personal laptops this year instead of a physical poster.  Please ensure your laptop is fully charged for the presentation.  Presenters may choose to pass out flyers or provide a QR code for participants to learn more about your poster topic.

Important “Call for Poster” Dates:

October 1, 2026: First day to submit your poster. 

December 11, 2026: Last day to submit your poster. 

January 4, 2027: Acceptance notifications will be emailed.

February 4-5, 2027: Winter Conference in East Peoria.

February 4, 2027: Posters will be presented.

Evaluation criteria

Proposals are evaluated based on the quality of the submission and the degree of practitioner focus.

Special consideration will be given to posters that:

-Align with ISPA’s mission, vision, core values 

-Align with ISPA’s 2026-2027 Presidential Theme: Leading with Care: Developing People and Strengthening Practice

-Center around the following ISPA 2026-2027 Priority Areas:

1. School Psychology Practice Model:
   Topics that align with the School Psychologists’ role as providers of the comprehensive delivery model. This may include topics related to MTSS, RTI, indirect and direct services, and the integration of comprehensive service delivery into school systems.

2. School Psychologists, DEI,  and Stakeholder Supports: 

Topics that address equitable schooling and positive factors that directly affect the lives of children, youth, families, and the school communities we serve. Special consideration also for submissions that address diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and individual, cultural, and contextual differences in our own interactions and as they shape students' development.

3. School Psychology Shortages:  

Topics that address approaches to service provision that mitigate the shortage of school psychologists and ideas that promote the field. These topics may address school psychology training, advocacy efforts, professional development and other ideas to move our field closer to the recommended student-to-school psychologist ratio. 

4. Organizational Excellence:

Topics that evaluate the effectiveness of organizational processes and professional practices. Also includes topics that promote visionary leadership, that is, approaching work with optimism, energy, professionalism, and working pragmatically with "what is" while moving with inspiration toward "what can be."

Special Note:  Everyone who submits a poster proposal will also be invited (at a later date) to submit a short video presentation and supplemental materials.  All submissions that are considered to be of interest to School Psychologists and deemed appropriate after committee review, will be placed on the ISPA website for ISPA members to view and give feedback after the Winter Convention.
